Finca Potrero has been in the Herrera family since the late 1800s, passed down through generations and gradually divided among heirs. Today, Luis Pedro Zelaya applies a meticulous approach to farming, focusing on pruning, stumping, and strategic shade planting. These practices ensure the coffee plants remain healthy and produce consistently high-quality cherries.

After harvest, the Herrera family delivers the coffee cherries to Beneficio Bella Vista for processing:

Depulping & Fermentation: A mechanical de-pulper removes the skin and pulp before a 14–16 hour fermentation breaks down residual mucilage.

Washing & Drying: The coffee is washed in concrete channels and then dried on raised African-style beds, allowing for even drying and optimal flavour development.
