Coffee Beans

Our coffee beans are roasted in Edmonton, Alberta and sourced through Direct Trade relationships with producers in countries like Costa Rica, Peru, Ethiopia, and Guatemala. Each coffee is roasted to work beautifully as both filter and espresso, with tasting notes and flavour profiles to help you find your next favourite cup.

Not sure which coffee to choose?

Here are a few easy places to start:

  • Everyday, easy-drinking coffee: Try Argyll Blend or Gateway Blend for comforting, chocolatey cups that work well as both filter and espresso.

  • Bright and fruity coffees: Look for single origins like Yirgacheffe (Ethiopia) or our seasonal Costa Rica offerings if you enjoy vibrant, fruit-forward flavours.

  • Decaf that still tastes great: Choose Transcend Decaf – Guatemala (or Brazil, if you feature it) for a sweet, balanced cup without the caffeine.

  • Half-caf: Gloria’s Half-Caf blends espresso and decaf for a gentler caffeine hit.

  • Gifts or trying us out: Our Sample Bag and Gift Box are ideal if you’re new to Transcend or buying for someone else.

Coffee Beans FAQs

How fresh are your coffee beans when they ship?
We roast in small batches in Edmonton and ship as soon as possible after roasting. Most orders leave our roastery within a few business days so your coffee arrives fresh and ready to brew.

Do your coffees work for both filter and espresso?
Yes. All of our coffees are roasted to be versatile, so you can brew them as espresso, in a Moccamaster, as pour-over, or in a French press.

Can I get my coffee ground?
Yes. When you add a coffee to your cart, choose the grind size that matches your brewing method, or select whole bean if you prefer to grind at home.

What if I’m new to specialty coffee?
Start with blends like Argyll or Gateway, or choose a flavour profile that matches what you usually enjoy—chocolatey and nutty, or bright and fruity. From there, you can explore more seasonal and adventurous single origins.
