Puente Tarrazu is a stellar example of creating a community around coffee growing. This project, comprising 6 families from around the town of Santa Cruz de Leon Cortez, Puente Tarrazu, is one of the most successful micro mills in Costa Rica. High-quality processing and drying are necessary for quality. The team at Puente has used what they’ve learned to inform their growing and harvesting practices, improving the quality of their coffee year after year.
This particular offering is a gesha variety, which is purchased from the famous Mama Cata farm in Panama. This is only the fourth year that this farm has produced enough yield of gesha to sell, and we’ve bought some from each year. This year’s offering is a white honey process, which tastes like jasmine, grapefruit and green tea with the incredible complexity we’ve come to expect from this unique variety.
