Puente Tarrazú is built around the idea of cultivating community through coffee. Composed of 6 families and led by Rodolfo Rivera, the mill started production in 2004 and has since grown to include more family farms, new exotic varieties, and a dry mill. The mill also processes coffee from other community members who are not part of the core Puente Tarrazú team. The larger scale of their production means they can now hire people to work during harvest, involving a large portion of the community in the effort.
In the past they only processed coffee as yellow honeys but now have the capability to control their residual mucilage, which means they can tune their processing to suit different varieties and flavour profiles. This lot is from their Los Angeles farm, and is mostly made up of Caturra, with a pollite smattering of Bourbon and Typica.
