This is our first year working with the Alarcon Family, after being introduced to them through our Peruvian exporting partners, Origin Coffee Labs. The Alarcon family grows this bourbon variety in the northern part of Peru, in a region called San José del Alto. The growing conditions in this region create the perfect conditions for slow cherry maturation yielding a high-quality and complex cup of coffee.
The Alarcon family farm was established over 40 years ago by Don Juan Alarcon when he purchased 11 hectares in the remote region surrounding the village of El Triunfo. La Palestine is now managed by Don Juan’s sons and they are known for their exemplary harvesting and processing practices.

We want to draw your attention to a subtle change on our labels, all of our labels now include both filter and espresso symbols. The reason for this is simple: all of our coffees have been prepared so that they are well suited to any brewing method. Different brewing methods will highlight different aspects of our coffees, making each brew unique. We will continue to classify any coffees we deem especially suited for brewing espresso.
