This Costa Rican decaf is a blend of coffees from two different growing regions: Tarrazu known for a rich body and Central known for moderate acidity and a sweet, clean cup. The flavours are bright, floral and sweet, with hints of citrus fruit -surprisingly delicate for a decaf coffee.

The green coffee is processed by a cooperative called Coopelibretad who receives coffee from farmers in the Central Valley and Cachi Orosi areas in Costa Rica. The region is known for its defined summer and winter seasons with an average temperature range between 18-28 degrees and consistent precipitation during the winter season. During processing, the pulp of the cherry is removed and the bean naturally ferments for 6 hours before being washed. The coffee is then dried in computer-controlled Berico machines to ensure drying standards are maintained.

Coopelibertad is devoted to quality, they work to educate farmers on the benefits of quality, providing incentives prior to harvest to ensure that 100% ripe cherry is picked. They also support their partners and producers through seedling control, fertilizing, weed control, and disease prevention.
